Tuberculosis, remains the world’s leading infectious disease, are responsible for the deaths of nearly 1.7 million people each year and representing the ninth leading cause of death globally. Each year, on 24 March, the world observes World TB Day. The day is an occasion to mobilize political and social commitment for further progress towards eliminating TB as a public health burden. The theme for World TB Day 2018 is “Wanted: Leaders for a TB-Free World; You can make history. End TB”. Bangladesh also observes this the day to join the global movement in making a powerful statement and show solidarity under leadership of National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP) . The USAID funded Challenge TB project, jointly implemented by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), KNCV and Interactive Research & Development (IRD), is also planning to observe the World TB Day 2018 with NTP. By focusing the World TB Day theme Challenge TB project in collaboration with Ujjiban USAID project is planning to organize different activities. The activities include dissemination of TB message through Ujjiban Facebook Page, World TB Day special event through FM radio program “Young Time” and live program through celebrity engagement.
