Entertainment Education: Really works In view of growing demand of reaching to the community through people’s friendly but in an innovative way, USAID-Ujjiban SBCC project arranged a workshop on Entertainment-Education (EE) approach that was held at Spectra Convention Centre, Gulshan, Dhaka on August 13, 2018. The objective of this workshop was to discuss about the effective use of the EE Approach in planning and designing of the SBCC programs. Mr. Patrick Coleman, Chief of Party, Ujjiban project who has long global experience in the arena of Enter-Educative approach presented the global experiences with success stories and facilitated the workshop to have Bangladesh experience and discuss/interaction among/between the participant.
A total of 53 participants from Government, NGO and Donors had attended this workshop. Dr. Zeenat Sultana, Deputy Chief of Party Ujjiban, made a presentation over the experience of EE approach in Bangladesh and its impact in the practice level in few health programs. There was huge enthusiasm and interest of the participants in asking relevant questions and making remarks in regard to the EE approach.
Participants expressed their views that the workshop was very engaging and will be helpful for them to incorporate the EE approach in their program designs as appropriate reveals the fact of timely arrangement of this kind of workshop and the global vs. local experience will profusely contribute towards the planning, designing and implementation of the SBCC program in Bangladesh.
