USAID-Ujjiban SBCC project provided technical assistance in organizing the Divisional Coordination Workshop on SBCC at Sylhet

With a primary objective to promote the divisional level GO-NGO coordination and brings better program impact through SBCC approaches in the health and family planning program fields, a Divisional Coordination Workshop  was held at Sylhet. This Workshop was held on August 06, 2018 in the conference room of Divisional Director-Family Planning, Sylhet in which a total of 20 participants from Government and NGO those are working in the Sylhet Division participated. World Population Day being Observed

The World Population Day is being celebrated worldwide including Bangladesh on Wednesday to spread awareness and discuss issues related to population growth. In 1989, the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programe recommended that July 11 be observed by the international community as World Population Day, a day to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues. A workshop on the work plan orientation and coordinated implementation of comprehensive SBCC Strategy for Sylhet division was held on July 01, 2018 in the conference room of the Divisional Director-FP, Sylhet attended by the GoB and NGO stakeholders of the Sylhet Division. National Nutrition Week 2018 Observed

The National Nutrition Week (April 23-29, 2018) began aimed at creating awareness about the importance of nutrition for health which has an impact on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimately the national development. Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury inaugurated week as the chief guest at city’s Osmani Memorial auditorium. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim, Food Minister Qamrul Islam and State minister for Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda were present there as special guests. Observance of World Health Day 2018

Like previous, this year also under the guidance of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Directorate General of Health Services, Bureau of Health Education observed the World Health Day nationwide.  The Day celebrates worldwide in recognition to the foundation of World Health Organization. A new eLearning course on Tuberculosis (TB) available online

The USAID Ujjiban SBCC Project has made available an online eLearning course on Basic Contents on Tuberculosis (TB) for Field Workers in health, population and nutrition sector. This is a video-based eLearning course which includes illustration and animation. The course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of field workers on TB. The course comprises of six modules. These are  Basic Concept of TB, Child TB, Multiple Drug Resistance (MDR) TB, Prevention and Treatment of TB, Role of Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC)  in TB Control Program and Roles and Responsibilities of Field Workers in TB Control Program.
