Observance of World Health Day 2018

Like previous, this year also under the guidance of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Directorate General of Health Services, Bureau of Health Education observed the World Health Day nationwide.  The Day celebrates worldwide in recognition to the foundation of World Health Organization. The World Health Organisation was founded on the principle that everyone in the world should be able to realise their right to the highest possible level of health. A new eLearning course on Tuberculosis (TB) available online

The USAID Ujjiban SBCC Project has made available an online eLearning course on Basic Contents on Tuberculosis (TB) for Field Workers in health, population and nutrition sector. This is a video-based eLearning course which includes illustration and animation. The course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of field workers on TB. The course comprises of six modules. These are  Basic Concept of TB, Child TB, Multiple Drug Resistance (MDR) TB, Prevention and Treatment of TB, Role of Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC)  in TB Control Program and Roles and Responsibilities of Field Workers in TB Control Program. Common Guidelines for Presentation in The BCC Working Group Meeting

Based on decision of the 23rd  BCC working meeting a sub-committee has been formed comprising of five members (Convener- Mr. Ruhul Amin Talukder, Joint secretary, HSD MOHFW, three members – one each from IEM, BHE & IEM and one member from Ujjiban as member secretary) to  develop a common guidelines for presentation. Meeting on Comprehensive SBCC Strategy Held at MoHFW

The discussion meeting on the draft detailed activities of Comprehensive SBCC Strategy Action Plan and identified indicators was held on February 28, 2018 in the Conference Room of MoHFW. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Md. Serajul Huq Khan, Secretary, Health Services Division of MoHFW, while Mr. Md. Fayiz Ahmmed, Secretary, Health Education & Family Welfare Division of MoHFW was present as co-chair. World TB Day 2018 to be Observed

Tuberculosis, remains the world’s leading infectious disease, are responsible for the deaths of nearly 1.7 million people each year and representing the ninth leading cause of death globally.  Each year, on 24 March, the world observes World TB Day. The day is an occasion to mobilize political and social commitment for further progress towards eliminating TB as a public health burden.  The theme for World TB Day 2018 is “Wanted: Leaders for a TB-Free World; You can make history.
