Communication Implementation Framework Alignment & Action Workshop Held on 6-8 November at BICC

The Bangladesh Knowledge Management Initiative (BKMI) in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) organized a workshop from November 6-8, 2012 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Hall, called the Bangladesh Communication Implementation Framework Alignment & Action Workshop. Between 55-65 attendees participated over three days from the Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Directorates of Health Services and Family Planning, development agencies, private sector, NGOs, and others from the BCC Working Group. Seventh Meeting, 26 September 2012

The seventh meeting of the BCC Working Group was held at the IEM Unit Conference Room on 26 September 2012. In this meeting, a new BCC Working Group website was presented to participants. The site has new features adapted toward the group’s needs. Subgroup presentations were also given. The strategies review subgroup presented a summary on their efforts and successes. The sub-group analyzed 17 communication strategies and 4 operational plans. A draft report is located on the BCC Working Group website. Communication Implementation Framework Workshop for Alignment & Action POSTPONED

The Workshop will be postponed. New dates and a new program schedule will be sent to Working Group members soon. This workshop will begin developing a Health, Population and Nutrition Communication Implementation Framework across stakeholders. New Reality TV Show on LA/PM Airs

The USAID-funded Mayer Hashi project airs a TV reality show promoting long-acting and permanent family planning methods (LA/PM) titled “Jibon Jekhane Shopnomoy” as part of a larger BCC campaign on LA/PM. In total, 6 episodes will be aired on ATN Bangla Saturdays at 12:30 PM. The first episodes aired on 14 and 21 January. The next episode airs on 28 January. MOHFW and Partners to Introduce New Health Resources for Journalists

Under the USAID-funded ICF/Macro project, a Technical Working Group was formed to develop a Health Handbook for journalists aimed at increasing and improving media coverage of health issues in Bangladesh. Led by the NGO Eminence, the group includes the DGHS and DGFP, prominent reporters from print and electronic media, and academics from journalism training programs across the country. The group will deliver a Health Handbook that will guide reporters of the health beat to write more interesting, informative and accurate stories on health, population and nutrition. DGFP Launches eBulletin

DGFP launches a new eBulletin to district and upazila FP Officers. The eBulletin, which will be distributed bi-monthly, focuses on program activities at the community level. It provides a digital platform for FP Officers in districts and upazilas to share their stories, successes and best practices with their peers, enhancing local implementation of FP activities.
