National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign Begins

The National Vitamin ‘A’ plus Campaign,  is being observed across the country Saturday, June 05, 2021 aiming to feed vitamin A plus capsules to all children aged between six and 59 months, reports UNB. Under the campaign, about 2.53 million children aged between six and 11 months will be fed blue colored vitamin ‘A’ capsules while 19.5 million children aged between 12 and 59 months will be given red colored high-power capsules. 12 Success Stories of Ujjiban

The USAID-funded Ujjiban project is a five-year integrated effort designed to improve the health of Bangladeshis and their communities by increasing knowledge and generating awareness of positive health behaviors related to maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health, family planning, nutrition and tuberculosis. Ujjiban employs a mix of media, outreach, community mobilization, interpersonal communication and local capacity development to reach its priority audiences in the regions of Chattogram and Sylhet. National Nutrition Week Begins

Health and family welfare minister Zahid Malik on Thursday at a virtual meeting inaugurated the National Nutrition Week 2021. The minister at the meeting said that the present government was working relentlessly to address the challenge of malnutrition amid the coronavirus outbreak. This year the government is observing the National Nutrition Week between April 23 and April 29 under the theme ‘Think about nutrition, if you think about food’. Guidelines for functionalize the Committees for Implementing effective SBCC activities in HPN Sector

Considering the Comprehensive Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Strategy ‘2016, designed to implement effective SBCC activities in the health, population and nutrition (HPN) sectors 7 committees were formed from the national level to the field level as per reference no. 45.00.0000. dated 12-08-2018 of Public Health-2, Health Services Division of MoHFW. These committees were reformed and reconstituted with amendments as per recommendation of National Steering Committee for HPN SBCC Strategy vides reference no. 45.00.0000.171.06. 012.20.438 dated 30-11-2020.
